Quill: free site provides interactive writing and grammar activities; sample activities; it provides background and grammar rules, students use those to create sentences. The overall purpose is that the practice and feedback will allow for students to create well structured sentences over time.

Newsela (2-12)& Readworks (K-12): leveled reading websites; user-friendly. They include a large library of nonfiction articles that are interesting and relevant. They also include additional tools so check it out. I used Newsela the last couple years I was in the classroom and it was a great tool. Readworks has great reviews and was recommended by the archdiocese. Both sites can help build reading comprehension and allow for the teacher to adjust pieces of nonfiction to a students reading level.
